We had a lovely sail in the morning but David was getting impatient to fish. This was still several miles from where I wanted to go to fish, but we saw the fish jumping and decided to try our luck here.
As my Dad would say: "Come on fishy fishy get on my hook"
David's first fish from our boat. I believe this is only the second fish that David ever caught. Needless to say his outlook on the day improved dramatically.
Another shot of the THE fish.
Dad gets lucky as well.
David is baiting his own hook as quick as he can. He also took the fish off the hook by himself. Today we are releasing back everything that we caught. David and I each caught about five fish.
Can't blame Kerrie for this. We were using day old worms and the stink was incredible. I held my breath too whenever that worm tub was open. Kerrie and I both said "DAVID HURRY UP and get the lid back on that thing." I've done some investigating and I think I know more about how to make the bait last longer. I found out that Farm Fresh has bloodworms - just ask the person at the meat counter and they will get them for you. I asked the clerk how cold it was where they stored the worms and he said twenty to thirty degrees. So, I'm going to start keeping the worms ON ice.
Here is a picture of Ragged Island where we were fishing with a good shot of our boat's bimini. Which we all decided was the word for the day.
Argh...
Some really pretty fluffy clouds in the background.
I'd say that David looks pretty much at ease in this picture.
