Things I have been told by mechanics that service the motor:
- It is ok to run the motor at full throttle all day long. It is designed to handle it.
- At a minimum wash off the exterior of the motor after every use. Treat exterior with a good anti-corrosion product (CRC-656 recommended, WD40 evaporates too quickly)
- Gear oil: Change before every 100 hours (I was told that 100 hours was a lot!), "Genuine Gear Oil API GL5", SAE #80-90
- Engine Oil: Change every 100 hours, 10W-40
- Water impeller: replace yearly
