Running lines aft to the cockpit was my biggest and most expensive project. I really agonized over whether or not I really needed to do this. But, I single hand a lot and my family isn't comfortable with me going forward to reef and I finally decided that I needed to do it.

Next were the rope clutches, another expensive item. I considered cleats and some other types of clutches but in the end decided to go with what I knew would be sure to work. I like that fact that there is no tying required. It is soooo easy to adjust the lines, I really had fun playing. I didn't know that the lines could be taken in while the clutch was closed. That's really nice. From left to right, topping lift, second reef tack, second reef clew, first reef tack, first reef clew, main halyard. I understand there are standard color codes for these lines. Maybe one day I'll get around to finding out what they are, for now this is working great for me. The position lets me know what's what and hasn't caused me any confusion.
Moving the lines aft to the cockpit has worked out really well. It is a big comfort to know that I can easily and quickly adjust the sails by myself without having to go forward. I'm very happy I did this and it was worth the money and the effort.
