The 2025 Garden Plan - first year with tubs where the boat trailer used to be. This was a very good garden. Lots of tomatoes and some issues with beans germinating but overall very good. The containers really didn't do that well. Not really sure, perhaps they weren't watered evenly enough. Next year will go back to Burpee seeds because I feel Johnny's is too oriented to commercial growers and not the home gardener.
Pg6. I grew this in 2024 and they did well with multiple pickings. In 2025, they didn't seem to germinate quite as well as the Provider beans but I think they were more tender.
Pg6. I ordered these for David and I tried them in 2025. Germinated well but seemed a little tougher unless picked young. This is a Johnny's "Easy Choice". I will try them too.
Pg18. Ordered these for David - do not plan to plant these.
Pg30. These did great last year growing on tent poles. Make lots of "Bread and Butter" pickles.
Pg35. Replacing Galine which I grew last year.
Pg40. Lettuce.
Pg58. Lettuce mix
Pg63. Romaine Lettuce
Pg78. Ordered these snap peas for David. I will try them as well. Johnny's "Easy Choice"
Pg79. Johnny's easy choice. After hearing Sandy Paxton rave about her snow peas. I decided I would give these a try as well.
Pg 81. "Ideal for Southeast" tolerates more sun.
Pg81. Ordered this for David but I will try them as well.
Pg82. Mild Japanese shishito peppers
Pg96. "Johnny's Easy Choice"
Pg102. Last years catalog said "needs minimal pollinator activity". That was not included in this years catalog - but I'm going to try this. It is a "Johnny's Easy Choice".
Pg102. Last year I grew these vertically with hand pollination and that worked great. I also only mulched with grass and not leaves to reduce squash bugs and I only had a few of thoese, Worked great!
Pg115. Grew this last year and they were great.
Pg122. Trying a smaller cherry totato.
Pg134. Basil
Pg141. "Johnny's Easy Choice"
Pg144. Decided not to grow this - we don't use parsley.
